On the shores of Lake Calhoun you will find the Bakken Museum of Electricity and Magnetism. Spend your day wandering the halls of this 1928 mansion and learning about some of the earliest electronically powered medical instruments as well as different types of electrical and magnetic exhibits. The museum was founded by Earl Bakken the pioneer of the first wearable, battery-powered pacemaker. The museum also has many hands-on activities for children to take part in and learn from.
